From the recording Go Back
This song co-written with Rich Kaminski is about falling out with a friendly neighbour, and deciding it's them, not you.
Lyrics
Go Back (Little, Kaminski)
Let the sum rise to the parts
Teach it like it should be taught
Play it right don't get lost
Hold the applause
Summon strength don't be weak
Rome wasn't built in a week
The rising tide waves of hope
Run for the cause
From the well what the hell
Comes a foul and noxious smell
The shining city on the hill
Crumbles before us
I won't go back
I can't go back
I'll never go back
I no longer know you
Gonna move on from you,
Forever a Dieu
The values we hold dear
Can't be counted on to clear
The cheques and balances that are tendered and cashed in
Let the scum have their say
You know they will anyway
Sly just like a fox
Enters the henhouse
A ringing bell you can tell
She was out front but she fell
The neon sign on the hill
Gasps its last breath
I won't go back
I can't go back
I'll never go back
I no longer know you
Gonna move on from you
Forever, a Dieu
I won’t go back I can’t go back
I’ll never go back
I no longer know you
Gotta move on from you,
Forever, a Dieu
